Hadhramout International Community College organized a workshop titled “Program Design Based on Learning Outcomes” on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Mukalla. The workshop aimed to design the college’s programs in line with national and international quality standards and to ensure alignment with the needs of the labor market. The event was attended by several distinguished figures, including Sheikh Saeed Salem Bin Qurban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hadhramout Bank, and Sheikh Abdurabuh Saeed Al-Thuainey, Vice Chairman of the Bank, along with a group of academics, experts, and professionals interested in developing technical and vocational education. The workshop began with a welcoming speech by Dr. Rabea Ali Al-Awbathani, Founder of Hadhramout International Community College and CEO of Business World Company Ltd. for Investment and Studies, who highlighted the philosophy, vision, and future direction of the college, as well as the pivotal role played by Business World Company in establishing this vital educational project — considered one of the company’s flagship initiatives, which it manages and operates as part of its strategic commitment to supporting technical and vocational education in Yemen. Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al-Haj, Executive Director of Community Colleges in Yemen, delivered a speech conveying the greetings of H.E. Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Technical Education, congratulating the college on its launch and commending its efforts to align academic programs with learning outcomes. He described the college as a promising model in advancing technical and vocational education in Yemen and the region. Eng. Saeed Omar Al-Awbathani, Projects Manager at Business World Company, presented an overview of the college, outlining its strategic vision, objectives, and programs across four main departments: Engineering and Industrial Technologies, Business and Finance, Computing and IT, and Medical Professions. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al-Subaie, Member of the Academic Accreditation Council of Yemen, delivered a presentation on international standards for outcome-based education (OBE) and mechanisms for formulating learning outcomes that ensure educational quality and accreditation. The workshop concluded with discussion sessions on several programs to be implemented within the Business and Finance Department, including Digital Marketing, Islamic Finance, Accounting and FinTech, and Hospitality Management.
